Redeemer Evangelical Free Church (REFC) began as a community outreach of Ebenezer Evangelical Free circa 1940 in conjunction with the Forest Lakes District of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Redeemer is a Holy Spirit led, warm, mature, and inviting community of believers that is seeking to meet the needs of the diverse community surrounding us in the Milwaukee area.

We value Our Community, the Body of Christ; The inerrant Word of God; Developing a personal relationship with the Triune God; and Missional Living

Redeemer Evangelical Free Church is located in an offshoot of Milwaukee between the cities of Greenfield and West Allis and is approximately twelve miles from the urban downtown area. The community that surrounds Redeemer is unique; it has all the benefits and opportunities of an urban center with Major League Sporting Teams, Art districts, recreation on the lakefront, and so much more. At the same time, it is nestled in a pocket of Milwaukee that has a very suburban vibe. There is a diversity of cultures and ethnicities right out our front door, however, our congregation is predominantly white singles and families.

Members of Redeemer recognize that our location affords us many unique opportunities for outreach. We are located across from an elementary school and surrounded by single family homes, apartments, and duplexes. The greater community is made up of shopping centers, restaurants, parks and residential neighborhoods. Redeemer has a unique opportunity to reach out to a vast number of families and individuals literally right outside our doors, while also serving the diverse needs of the larger community.

    • Passionate about serving our Lord and Savior
    • Generous with time, talent, and treasure
    • Mission-minded — 20% of budget for missions
    • Ready and willing to help our leaders move us toward the changes and transformation needed
    • Friendly and Welcoming
    • Strong value placed on the inerrant Word of God
  • Redeemer desires to become a church so passionate about Jesus and His gospel and so compassionate in how we treat our neighbors that many of them will surrender their hearts to the Lord and join us in serving others and bringing the gospel to our community and the world. We want to be a place that engages with people where they are in a meaningful way, accepting their current circumstances, and working with them towards becoming a fully committed follower of Christ.
