Children's Ministries

More people start their personal spiritual journey as a young child than in all other age-groups combined. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” At Redeemer, we go beyond merely removing obstacles by aiming to present Jesus Christ and Biblical truth in a way that is simple, safe and fun. Programs are offered for kids Infant-5th Grade.

We believe that parents are (and ought to be) the primary spiritual influencers in a child’s life and therefore the most effective Children’s Ministry involves a strategic partnership with parents. Our distinctive core-values continue to shape children’s programs where

  • God’s Word is Transformational
  • Love is Relational
  • Faith is an Action
  • Worship is Essential
  • Discipleship is Supernatural
  • The Church has been described as the “body of Christ” with different parts, each of which is important and functions for the edification or “building up” of the whole. We believe a young believer should experience the connectedness, purpose, fulfillment and growth-benefit that comes from meaningful service in the church.

Finally, our Children’s Ministry is energized and directed by the missional goal of the church as a whole: To make disciples for Christ. We hope the simple command to “Go” (Matthew 28:19-20) finds tangible, age-appropriate expression in the way our Children’s Ministries encourage and welcome visitors and impact the surrounding community.

Every adult who works with children at Redeemer must complete an application and screening process, including a background check. For more information or if you have any questions about Children's Ministries, contact the church office.

    sunday school

    9:45-10:45 Sunday mornings

Forget the boring, formal class-room experience you may associate with Sunday School! At Redeemer, Sunday School is highly relational—in terms of our relating to God and one another. And the Bible is so much more than information to learn, God’s Word is “living and active” and meant to be understood in the context of personal relationship—it is nothing less than transformational. Sunday School is for the following age-groups: 18 mo.-3 years, 3K-4K, K5 through 5th Grade.

    awana clubs

    wednesdays from 6:15-8:00 pm

“How can parents and the church partner together to nurture a ‘sticky faith” in children?” This is a compelling question because research shows over half of children from Christian homes leave the church by age 19. In contrast, over 90% of Awana alumni continue to attend church and believe in God as adults.

Awana includes games, a large-group lesson and scripture memory. Cubbies is offered for children in grades 3K-4K, Sparks for children K-2nd grade, and T&T for children in grades 3-6. Awana meets on Wednesday nights (during the school-year) from 6:15-8:00 pm. Individial club calendars can be found here.

The nursery allows parents to attend age-specific programs for adults while giving their young children a safe, fun and nurturing environment of supervision and care. Nursery is available, for children Infant-K4, on Sunday mornings during both Worship Services and during the ABF/Sunday School hour. Every adult who works with children at Redeemer must complete an application and screening process, including a background check.

    Christmas Musical

Each fall, children have the opportunity to participate in a musical production themed for the Christmas season. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings during the 8:30 service. This year's performance will be on Sunday, December 11 at 6:00 PM.

    Backyard VBS

Backyard VBS brings the fun and learning of traditional Vacation Bible School to a backyard in your neighborhood! Each Backyard VBS meets for one week, Monday through Thursday, for 1 1/2 hours each day, and is led by teens from Redeemer Church who have been thoroughly trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Kids age 4-10 enjoy games, songs, snacks and an engaging Bible lesson.

Backyard VBS is a simple and fun way for families to reach children in their neighborhood with the Gospel of Christ.

    Camp Timber-lee

Timber-lee's programs take place among 600 acres of Wisconsin woods and beach front, offsite adventure trips, a 14,000 square foot Science Education Center, and adrenaline activity structures. Your child will grow strong in character, confidence, and Chris through the most unique and engaging outdoor experience in the region.
